Servo Coat 120 is a gear compound which is heavy-bodied and an adhesive type black lubricant for open gears, wire rope and chain lubrication. This compound is primarily used for the lubrication of a variety of open gears which range from machine tools or small presses to heavy loaded open gears present in cement factories, coal mines etc. It is formulated by using highly refined steam cylinder oils which possess great thermal and chemical stability. This gear compound is incorporated with the specially selected bituminous component that is known for providing excellent adhesiveness. It possesses characteristics of carrying a heavy load which are a result of a mild EP additive. It is also known to be suitable for lubrication of kiln tyres which operate at a high temperature; wire ropes and chains; in cement mills and chemical plants. This gear compound provides metals with highly tenacious films thereby giving excellent performance while operating under extreme conditions. The incidences of scarce lubrication of open gears at irregular intervals requires that a microscopic film of the lubricant should be able to withstand the load and also prevent metal to metal contact. This gear compound should be refrained from being used in food processing industries. Servo Coat 120 also ensures excellent protection of gear teeth under boundary lubrication conditions and provides a long-lasting lubricating film which helps in reducing lubrication costs by taking care of irregular applications in small quantities. It also provides protection against rust during idle periods and good resistance against water washing. It also gives excellent film adhesiveness thereby resulting in minimal lubricant throw off.
