Servo Marine Gear EP 220 is a versatile lubricant whose working is directed on principles of sulphur phosphorous chemistry. It has desirable properties such as high thermal stability as well as resistance against changing because of the addition of oxygen in contrast with conventional lead-naphthenate oils, therefore, ensuring increased service life. It is characterized by the ability of the oil to separate from the water and the least foaming tendency too. It is known for its metal surfaces protection function thus it acts against rust and corrosion formation. Not only this, but it also has the unique properties of suppressing the sludge formation and avoids the development of deposits, even when subjected to high bulk oil temperatures. It has the ability to withstand high load pressures and is generally used for almost all types of enclosed gear drives with circulation or splash lubrication. It is of particular importance for systems involving gears, roller bearings etc. It is also suitable for chain drives, sprockets (a profiled wheel with teeth, or cogs, that mesh with a chain, track or other perforated or indented material) etc.
The specification that it meets are ASLE standard G-315, G-1000, G-1500 and G-2150, IS: 8406 – 1993.
