Servo RP 102 WD, as the name suggests, is a rust preventive (RP) oil. This oil replaces any water in contact with the metal surface, thus preventing rust. The most efficient characteristic of this oil is its outstanding ability to safeguard the metal components of a machine against rust formation, thus it preserves the parts against wear and extends their longevity. It contains oil-soluble surface-active agents which are dissolved in a specific solvent that consists of a special corrosion-deterrent and film-forming component. This film essentially protects the metal surfaces from corrosive damage when exposed to water or moist conditions. It contains special additives which impart the ability to wet metal surfaces in preference to water. It can be utilized at ambient temperature by dip or spray method. Solvents like MTO can be used to clean the film over the metal surface. The kinematic viscosity is determined by indicating the time it takes for an oil to pass from the opening of a capillary tube when subjected to gravity force. For this oil, the kinematic viscosity equals 1.5 centistokes (at 40 deg C).
