Servo RR 408 is a Rail Road Engine Oil, a heavy-duty LMOA Generation IV oil designed to meet the lubrication requirements of ALCO Locomotives. It has been prepared with a blend of high-quality base stocks giving it an excellent thermal and oxidation stability in addition with the special additives that help impart a high degree of detergency and dispersancy including the desired level of alkalinity to fight the damage of combustion due to the high sulphur fuels. It helps keep the engine clean. It isn’t suitable for lubrication of diesel locomotive where silver-lined bearings like GM locomotives are fitted.
