Servo Steerol SS C25 is a high-quality semi-synthetic cold rolling oil designed for superior lubrication and cooling in 6 Hi Cold Rolling Mills. It is formulated using highly refined base oils and advanced additive chemistry to deliver exceptional film strength, friction reduction, and surface finish. When mixed with water, it forms a metastable, long-lasting emulsion that provides excellent cooling and lubrication under high-pressure, high-temperature rolling conditions. The oil is engineered to minimize friction between the roll bites, thereby reducing rolling force and enhancing sheet flatness and reflectivity. Its consistent emulsion stability ensures uniform lubrication throughout the process, preventing roll wear and maintaining clean, bright surfaces on the rolled sheet. The product’s optimized formulation supports extended oil life, reduced consumption, and lower overall operating costs, making it ideal for continuous and reversible cold rolling applications. Servo Steerol SS C25 is specifically developed for use in 6 Hi Cold Rolling Mills where precise control of film formation is required to achieve consistent reduction and superior product quality. It is best utilized at emulsion temperatures between 45°C and 55°C, ensuring stable viscosity and effective heat dissipation. The recommended oil concentration in emulsion varies depending on the rolling reduction level — 2.5% for rolling down to 0.3 mm, 3.0% for 0.2 mm, and 3.5% for 0.1 mm, allowing flexibility across different production requirements. The product has been approved by M/s Bhushan Steel, Sahibabad, for use in their reversible 6 Hi Cold Rolling Mill (FPE), where it has demonstrated outstanding performance in reducing specific rolling load to 0.65–0.75 ton/mm and minimizing specific oil consumption to as low as 0.7 liters per ton. These results underline its proven reliability in achieving high output efficiency and improved surface quality. With a kinematic viscosity range of 38–46 cSt at 40°C, density of 0.916 g/cc, and flash point of 200°C, Servo Steerol SS C25 ensures consistent lubricity and high oxidation resistance. It also features a saponification number of 205–217 and acid number between 9–17 mg KOH/g, which together enhance its lubricating power, stability, and corrosion protection. The oil maintains an ideal pH of 5.0–7.0 in 5% emulsion, ensuring emulsion balance and compatibility across water hardness ranges.
